Birthday Weekend in Boise

We spent last weekend in Boise! It was a party all weekend... literally. We celebrated mine, Jake, and Tess's Birthdays. We ate like royalty. Crepes, steak, fondue... to say the least. Jake made up some "fun drinks". Mojitos is the real name, i think. (Virgin of course)

Tess and Andrew took us out with the horses. Sean rode a horse for the first time in his life!!! I don't have any pictures, i'll have to get some from my Dad.

All in all it was a fun weekend. We played lots of games, I got an injection in my jaw, went to Church... you know all the good stuff. We have and awesome family.

Life is good

Life is good for Sean and I right now. Of course there are challenges and and hardships, but overall life is good!

Sean is crazy and amazing. He is working 40 hours a week with ITS, taking a few classes that total 12 hrs a week, and volunteering 8ish hours a week. So he is busy and doesn't get much sleep. But he does it, and does it without complaining. He's a better person than me =)

Me, I'm still working full time for the Podiatrist here in town. I enjoy the work, (more the clinical side of things than the clerical). I enjoy working with and getting to know the patients. Of course there are some things I could do without, but that how it goes.

In our free time (if Sean isn't sleeping) we have gotten into a "Lost" phase. We didn't watch the last few seasons... so through Hulu we are getting caught up. It's kind of a bad habit, but nice to be detached from the world for a bit. We go down to Lewiston to visit my in laws and often time take advantage of their washer and dryer (=. We hang out with our friends and family here in Moscow. Sean got a card game called, Killer Bunnies for Christmas, that's our new game.

That's pretty much life right now... not much new going on.

So as I said at first. Life is good.

Update

I haven't posted anything for a few weeks, for a few reasons/excuses.

1) We lost our camera, pictures are my crutch. You see when I can post pictures I don't have to write as much, the pictures tell most of the stories. I am not a creative writer, nor am I very confident in my writing. Heck... with out spellcheck the world would thing I was an idiot!

2) My life seems pretty "boring"... in the sense, not much has changed as of late. Now I know this is a lame excuse because I could try to be creative and post about my blessings, my memories, the color of scrubs I wore that day etc. I don't know though... maybe I should though. Document who I am.

3)I'm lazy. I like going around and reading other peoples blogs, but then after 10min of that something/someone else asks for my attention and I procrastinate.

4)I'm selfish. I take the time to read others blogs and stay in tune with their lives and don't take the time to write so they can know what's happin around here.


So.... I should blog more.

For my family, my friends, my posterity, and honestly myself. I used to be faithful... I mean faithful about writing in my journal every single night. It was good for me. I really should pick up the habit again, for many reasons I won't go into detail about right now.

so.... please keep bugging me about posting more... and I'll be better at posting. (you notice I didn't say "I'll try", but I said "I'll" aka I will. This is serious stuff!

Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park

Sad story, Sean and I think we lost our camera.

Ever since we got back from the Olympic Peninsula (after Thanksgiving) we haven't been able to find our camera. We just keep thinking it will "show up". You know how those things happen sometimes... you "loose" something, give it some time and in one of your cleaning sprees, or in the process of looking for something else you miraculously find it. Well, this has been our hope, but hasn't happened yet. The last place we can remember taking pictures was at the Ginkgo Petrified Forest State park. It's an obscure out of the place park in WA. We stopped there for fun on our drive back from Port Angeles to Moscow. We never got the pictures off the camera... another big clue that that is were we lost it. The pictures weren't a big loss, the park was kind of a let down. If you're interested click on the link below. We were expecting to see these giant amazing petrified trees... but there was a trail in the desert with caged pits housing petrified stumps. Granted... to some this is amazing, not to me. Anyway... if anyone happens to be going to the Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park anytime soon let me know and I'll send you on a wild goose chase through the desert searching for our lost camera!

PA

Well, Sean and I misplaced our camera. But no fear, we'll find it the day we get motivated enough to do a deep clean of our apartment. So for now, I thought I'd document a little more of our trip to the Olympic Peninsula over Thanksgiving break.

We all met up in Olympia first. We got to take our family around to some of our favorite places from the summer we spent there when Sean was interning with Brown and Caldwell. We hiked a little bit through Watershed Park. Sean could tell you a lot more about it than I can, but it is in the middle of Olympia... but non the less it is a rain forest! Pretty cool. After work sometimes Sean and I used to drive around exploring. This was a park we happened on one time. Of course we weren't always so adventurous. Sometimes we would feel really lazy and go to the park a few blocks from our apartment where we could "use" free Internet. We were on a "Lost" kick that summer. It was a good summer though, we miss it. We have both said that if ever given the opportunity to move back there we would jump on it!

We also gave ourselves a tour of the Washington State Capitol. Elaborate!

Sean, Jake and I got to spend some time with Sean's Aunt Mick, and Jim that night. She is a wonderful person, and it was really good to see her. I really felt at home in her house... not a feeling I was necessarily expecting to feel to be quite honest. But a very warm one.

On a rare sunny day after Thanksgiving we drove up the coast from Port Angeles and hiked a short but beautiful trail to Cape Flattery. In this picture we are standing on the North Western most point in the Continental United States! Pretty cool. On that Island out there there is a Light house... looks like a very solitary life. I guess now days we do have modern conveniences like Internet,tv, and phones... but what would it be like to live out there 100 years ago?!

It was great to spend time with family, and enjoy the great outdoors. Tess and Andrew moved down to Boise after graduation in December.... so we don't get to see the much anymore. Sometime you don't realize how nice it is to have family around until they aren't so close anymore.

Graduation!

Tess graduated from the Universit of Idaho two weekends ago with a degree in Rangeland managment. Mom and Dad came up for the weekend and helped celebrate.

Way to go Tess, you are done!

Twi-Hards!!!

While in Port Angeles over Thanksgiving break, mom, my brother Jake and I had a fun night out. For all you you "twi-hards" you'll know that the Twilight series books takes place in a small town called Forks. Port Angeles is about 1 hour from Forks, and Port Angeles is mentioned in the books. Well before Forks became so popular, I had spent time there, mostly on the beaches close to Forks. So anyway, we were there for the opening week of New Moon. We decided since we were THERE we had to go see it. Jake, mom and I arrived 5 min late for the 5:15 showing, so we walked around town, went to a old book store, ate some fish and chips, and went to the "Twilight Store". Then to finish off the night we got to see New Moon, which i was really excited about seeing. Jake and mom both got Hot Coco with the Fish and chips, weird combo... but hey they liked it! This restaurant was on the ocean.

OK... so this store I mentioned above... a store dedicated to Twilight series. that's all... nothing more. Every single thing in this store is Twilight related. Pretty crazy!

All in all, it was a fun night. For those who care about my opinion of the movie, of course not as good as the book. But I did enjoy it. I felt like it was rushed... they had to cut out so much of the depth to get in all the story. I realize this is how a lot of book-movie conversions go. I want to watch it again, when it comes to the dollar theatre in Lewiston probably. And just to clear one thing up. I don't consider myself a "twi-hard" by any means, but I did enjoy the books and movies!
